SiH: Λ doubling and ``core polarization''
Abstract
Ab initio computation of the Λ-doublet splitting in the lowest rotational level of SiH (X 2Π) predicts a radioastronomical frequency of 3000 MHz which may be compared with the most recent terrestrial spectroscopic value of 2968 MHz. In this calculation no adjustment has been made for the effects of ''core polarization'' which can be handled satisfactorily providing a wave function of high accuracy is employed.
