Novel 4-port microwave rotary phase shifter and method for its precision calibration
Abstract
A 4-port microwave rotary phase shifter is proposed and a precision model is developed. The 4-port rotary phase shifter is an ordinary 2-port rotary phase shifter in which the rectangular-circular transitions are replaced by orthomode transducers. This modification makes it possible, by means of moderate precision instruments, to measure the correction of the 4-port rotary phase shifter in situ with sufficient precision for use in a standard laboratory.
