Vapour film condensation heat transfer and hydrodynamics under the influence of an electric field
Abstract
Heat transfer and hydrodynamic processes involved in pure vapor film condensation in an electric field have been studied experimentally. It is shown that the enhancement of heat transfer under the electrohydrodynamic effect is due to reduction of the film thickness caused by the condensate spraying into the vapor phase and formation of transverse waves. It is also shown that heat transfer in film condensation of stagnant vapor on short vertical surfaces exposed to a direct-current field obeys the laws that govern the laminar film flow.
