The first four harmonics of the daily variation of galactic cosmic rays.
Abstract
The kinetic equation for the galacticcosmicray distribution function is solved by expanding the distribution function into a sphericalharmonic series with respect to the angles between the particlemomentum direction and the direction of the regular magnetic field. The expansion coefficients are determined and used to analyze data on the diurnal, semidiurnal, eighthour, and sixhour variations of cosmicray intensity.
