E-type circulator for fin lines
Abstract
A simple E-type fin-line circulator is described, which is characterized by an isolation in excess of 20 dB over a 10% bandwidth in X-band. The field pattern is rotated by 90 deg, and possible solutions for mounting the ferrite resonator are given, with the single-puck structure yielding best results. An insertion loss of 0.5 dB is also observed, and tests with a triangular ferrite disk demonstrate a slightly worse performance with a bandwidth of 9%.
