Measurement and theoretical confirmation of Xe-enhanced CO2-laser output power levels
Abstract
A quantitative account of power increase measurements at most of the P(J) 00(0)1 and R(J) 00(0)1 branches around the 10.6-micron transition line is reported. Using the available general theoretical analysis and the evaluated increased cavity gain condition, the expected output levels for the given laser system are obtained analytically. Excellent agreement is obtained with the measured results. The measured output power of the laser beam with the regular gas mixture and with 5 percent Xe added to the mixture is shown. Also included are plots of the gain and output power.
