Atmospheric transmittance: improvement of LOWTRAN prediction by incorporating turbulence effects
Abstract
Corrections in LOWTRAN calculations of atmospheric transmission due to turbulence effects are calculated using the mutual intensity function. It is assumed that the source transmits a collimated Gaussian beam at each frequency with a beam size of .01 m. Both experimental data and LOWTRAN calculations are corrected to bring them into closer agreement with each other.
