Discrimination of hologram and antenna theory
Abstract
A theoretical examination of image discrimination of the hologram during image reproduction is presented. A two dimensional electrodynamic problem is examined. With the use of planar and cylindrical reference flows, conditions for the correct reproduction of the image of a luminous line are established. The discrimination of the hologram in the direction parallel to its plane is investigated. A similarity is noted between the obtained expression and the integral equation of a linear antenna, making possible utilization of the theory of the directional effect of antennas in determining the solution. It is shown that the maximum resolution in the plane parallel to the hologram is equal to the wave length. Discrimination in the direction perpendicular to the plane is much worse than in the parallel.
