Mass transfer effects on the flow past an accelerated infinite vertical plate with variable heattransfer
Abstract
An analysis of the mass transfer in an unsteady twodimensional flow of an incompressible viscous dissipative fluid past an accelerated infinite vertical plate is presented. The following conditions are assumed: (1) the heat transfer is varied at the plate, (2) the nondimensional time is small, and (3) the Prandtl number and the Schmidt number are equal to one. Approximate solutions of the coupled nonlinear equations are obtained for the velocity and temperature. The numerical values for the skin friction and the rate of heat transfer are also given.
