Prediction of turbulent boundary layer separation
Abstract
Theoretical, analytical predictions and experimental results concerning turbulent boundary layer separation are presented. The results indicate that the occurrence of boundary layer separation can be predicted based on the variation of velocity in the main flow region. The analysis presented provides a basis for the design of gas inlet ducts with good flow characteristics and small stagnation pressure loss. Also, it can predict the quality of the gas inlet duct already designed.
