Far ultraviolet investigation of three nuclei of globular clusters.
Abstract
Spectra of the central regions of the galactic Globular Clusters NGC 362, NGC 5824, and NGC 6093 have been obtained in low dispersion mode with the International Ultraviolet Explorer. The peculiar cluster NGC 362 shows an UV behaviour consistent with the HB morphology and the metal content inferred from observations in the optical range. NGC 6093 appears to be a member of the 'extremely blue' HB group, defined by ANS observations; results for NGC 5824 are similar, but more uncertain. UV properties of G.C. are discussed in relation to the population of HB's.
