Statistical models for spectroscopic and for eclipsing binary stars
Abstract
The relations between the statistical features of spectroscopic and eclipsing binaries and the statistical properties of binaries as a whole were investigated. Possible distributions of the semimajor axes and of the mass ratios were selected; then certain values accessible from the observations  the proportion of spectroscopic and eclipsing binaries and the distributions of the Kvelocities and of the depths of eclipse  were computed for each case.
