Development of 12 GHz helix TWT for broadcasting satellites
Abstract
The design and experimental results of a TWT (traveling-wave tube) under development for broadcasting satellites are presented. This TWT produces 100 W CW RF output power minimum in the frequency range of 11.7 to 12.2 GHz and is incorporated with the helix slow wave circuit with a velocity taper, newly developed spent beam refocusing system utilizing the forces of electron charges and magnetic lenses, and the four-stage potential depressed collector.
