Developments in laser based diagnostic techniques
Abstract
The paper discusses laser based diagnostic techniques applicable to fluid dynamic and combustion research. These techniques include the spontaneous Raman effect, coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering, coherent Raman gain spectroscopy, and the laser Doppler velocimeter. It is shown that these laser based diagnostic techniques can measure the variables of interest in fluid dynamics and combustion research such as the temperature, species concentration, velocity, turbulent intensity temperature, and concentration fluctuation, as well as a number of correlation and crosscorrelation parameters.
