A study of the photolysis of compounds with P-I and As-I bonds
Abstract
Generation at the 2P1/2-2P3/2 transition in elemental iodine (wavelength 1.3 micron) produced by photodissociation of (CF3)2AsI and (CF3)2PI molecules has been investigated experimentally using a xenon flashtube as the light source. Experimentally derived sequences of basic reactions involved in the photolysis of (CF3)2AsI and (CF3)2PI molecules which determine the energy parameters of the generated emission are presented.
