Solid materials testing by wide-band stress impulse transmission
Abstract
A wide-band stress impulse is generated by sparking on a pin-point surface of the tested solid material and detected by a piezoelectric contact transducer. The analyzed signal provides informations which are correlated with the material isotropy and homogeneity conditions.
