A digital multiservice exchange in military communications
Abstract
A detailed review is made of the design requirements and features of the CT 86 family of digital switches, and the meshed, star-shaped and analog, and mixed analog/digital networks into which the switches may be formed for use in multiservice exchange military communications. The CT 86 switches feature a modular design that allows incorporation of from 20 terminals to several hundred, an internal standard interface ensuring connectability with the largest possible range of terminals, and great simplicity of operation obtained by means of a microprocessor-run, stored-programs controlling logic.
