On the prediction of transition in three-dimensional flows
Abstract
The empirical 'e to the power n' method for predicting transition in three-dimensional shear flows is applied to three problems: (1) the rotating disk, (2) the Blasius flow, and (3) stagnation flow on a yawed wing. The likely errors arising from simplifications proposed in the calculation procedure are analyzed.
