A wideband, low-sidelobe, polarization-agile array antenna
Abstract
A polarization-agile array antenna is described that consists of interleaved, orthogonally polarized subarrays. The line arrays are constructed using low-cost coaxial transmission line, with dual-slot radiators cut in the outer wall. Preliminary measurements of several experimental antennas indicate that sidelobe levels below -40 dB can be obtained over a 15 percent frequency band, with axial ratios greater than 20 dB for linear polarization, and less than 1 dB for circular polarization.
