Evaluation of the MTD in a high-clutter environment
Abstract
The architecture of the moving target detector processor is described, and results of a field examination using an ASR-7 terminal radar are presented, which indicate performance in operational site environments containing ground, rain, and bird clutter. It is shown that the use of modern signal/data processing techniques can support automation of terminal area surveillance radar systems, and the automated radar combined with a modern beacon system can improve the overall sensor surveillance performance.
