New classes of ideal linear filters for filter design applications
Abstract
The synthesis of frequency domain defined filters is discussed. The procedure in question involves the derivation of ideal filters and the approximation of these ideal filters to realizable ones. Of the several approaches examined for extending the number of available ideal filter formulations, the best results to date were obtained by balancing distortion equations. An illustrative example is given, using an input to generate six different ideal filters.
