Radar glint spectra for targets maneuvering in two coordinates
Abstract
The classical theory describing radar glint-spectra for targets maneuvering (rotating) about a single coordinate axis was developed by R. H. DeLano and R. B. Muchmore. This paper extends the earlier results to include simultaneous maneuvering about two coordinate axes. Spectra are developed for both sum - and difference - channel outputs of a monopulse system in terms of integral equations to be solved once specific assumptions are made about target scattering area geometry and scatterer distribution. A specific example of an elliptical area of constant-amplitude scatterers is worked out in detail.
