Error analysis and performance data from an automated azimuth measuring system
Abstract
The paper describes an automated inertial azimuth measuring system (the AAMS) which was used to track the azimuthal motion of test references at the Advanced Inertial Test Laboratory. A detailed error analysis of the system and methods to improve performance and accuracy are presented. Selected alternatives for improving state-of-the-art azimuth measurement are also examined.
