Adapter units of the Ariane telemetry chain - Performance and technology
Abstract
The design, electrical performance, and technology of the modular telemetry conditioning units of the Ariane program are outlined. To minimize the volume of the circuits, a thick film based on alumina substrate hybrid technology has been utilized. Attention is given to the feeder section of the units, consisting of a dc/dc converter which furnishes voltage to all the circuits of the module; these converters have maximum power of not more than 16 W, and efficiency not less than 50 percent. Also considered are Wheatstone bridges and Kelvin double bridges, and the chip resistors having a tolerance within 0.01 percent. In addition, voltage and current generators are considered, along with amplifiers.
