Mechanisms for the control of optics in remote sensing
Abstract
A new approach for obtaining fine pointing, stabilization and angular scanning by moving optical components of infrared detectors and radars is described, along with techniques for adjusting the optics in space telescopes. Attention is given to a transceiver which is capable of automatic angular tracking as well as distance tracking; the electronic processing aspects and fine stabilization are considered. In addition, techniques for the control of optics in space applications are discussed in detail, considering the flip flop and the rotating wheel mechanisms.
