Ruby laser for remote sounding of atmospheric humidity
Abstract
The paper deals with the design and performance of a pulsed ruby laser and its application to the remote sensing of atmospheric humidity by differential absorption. The laser generates double giant pulses, shifting the frequency of the first and second pulse. The double giant pulses are generated with a potassium dehydrogen phosphate Q-switch over one pump cycle.
