Multiple isolated probe electromagnetic field measuring systems
Abstract
Two systems were developed under two separate projects. One was a 32-channel manually operated, self controlled system, and the other was an automatic, computer controlled system having 16 channels. Each system can simultaneously and continuously measure as many separate electric or magnetic field strengths as it has channels, and at as many different locations. The systems are isolated from their surroundings by fiberoptic links, and the probes are isolated from the test set up and the remainder of the system by high-resistance transmission lines. The probes cover the frequency ranges of 100 kHz to 12 GHz for electric fields and 500 kHz to 200 MHz for magnetic fields, and they measure field strengths from 0.2 V/m to 200 V/m electric, and 0.003 A/m to 0.5 A/m magnetic.
