Description and utilization of a computation program of the optical radiation transmitted, emitted or diffused by the atmosphere for satellite observation
Abstract
A computer program RAVIR (radiation in the atmosphere in the visible and the infrared) is described for computation of the radiation received by an observation satellite, within a spectral range from 0.3 to 25 microns. The algorithms used for the calculation of the atmospheric transmittance are largely inspired by the American computer code LOWTRAN. Program RAVIR also computes the thermal atmospheric radiance, and the radiance due to the scattered solar radiation. The program is not listed.
