Space Shuttle EEE /Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical/ parts control
Abstract
The objective of this paper is to provide some insight into why the selected level of EEE parts was chosen and how the contractual requirements are implemented for the Space Shuttle. The Space Shuttle philosophy was conceived to provide a less expensive payload delivery system by replacing the presently expendable launch vehicles with reuseable launch vehicles. The original problem was to formulate and implement a cost-effective EEE parts plan that would meet the requirements of mission objectives and provide visibility for program monitoring.
