Time-resolved spectrum of light reflected from laser plasmas
Abstract
The time dependent spectrum of 1.054 micrometer light reflected from spherical targets was measured for intensities in the range between 0.4 and 10 x 10 to the 15th power W/sq cm. The spectra are primarily blueshifted and are consistent with a Doppler-shift model. When compared with hydrodynamic code simulations, they provide valuable information on flux-limited thermal transport and suprathermal electron transport.
