Quantitative visualization by video techniques of recirculative flow in a hydrodynamic channel
Abstract
Fundamental mixing and flow distribution characteristics, applicable to aerodynamic studies of combustion chambers, were observed using video equipment and hydraulic simulation. Experiment data were statistically treated by computer. A residence time distribution function and a flow repartition representation were obtained, then used to build a phenomenological flow model of mixing processes in the employed and is shown to require less memory capacity than a Lagrangian approach to extracting a mean signal.
