Similarity law of the spectrum of scalar fluctuations for the inertial convective region k much greater than k/0/ in homogeneous isotropic turbulence
Abstract
On the basis of Corrsin's formula for the transfer of scalar fluctuations - equivalent to the -5/3 power law of the scalar spectrum a law of similarity is derived for the scalar spectrum in the inertial convective region k much greater than k(0) (k(0) wave number of the large eddies), which contains the Reynold's number Re(lambda) and has the asymptotic form of the Obuchnow-Corrsin -5/3 power law. Finally, agreement is shown with the measurements of the one-dimensional scalar spectrum at Re(lambda) equals 150.
