Concerning the number of impulses during the energy-optimal transfer between close coplanar Keplerian orbits
Abstract
A theoretical analysis, in the framework of the maximum principle, is applied to the problem of the number of impulses during the energy-optimal transfer between two close coplanar Keplerian orbits. It is shown that the single-impulse transfer is optimal for a boundary-orbit eccentricity of less than 0.7748.
