Use of photoscanning method for determination of velocity profile in high-temperature jets
Abstract
A method is given for determining the instantaneous velocity profile in transverse cross sections of a high-temperature gas jet by the photoscanning method, in which brightness fluctuations arising during transverse breakdown of the jet by a high-voltage pulse discharge are used as local markers. The technique developed is used to study the velocity field in the cross section of a coaxial plasmotron jet.
