Observation of temperature fluctuations with the use of photodetectors
Abstract
It is suggested to use measurements of temperature fluctuations in combination with modulation measurements of specific heat for determining high-temperature specific heat at constant volume. A method of observing temperature fluctuations by means of photodetectors is developed. Temperature fluctuations of the order of 10 to the -5th K are measured in a synchronous detection regime. Low-frequency temperature fluctuations with a spectral density of the order of 10 to the -11th K squared/Hz are recorded in 3-micron-thick wire specimens.
