Testing and standardizing two-stage dust measuring devices
Abstract
Four two-stage dust measuring devices (DP-20, DP-50, Z-40 and SPG-10) were compared in a dust chamber. A standardization of the four instruments is possible, with the accuracy of measurement within 10 percent for total dust concentration, and 15 percent for fine dust concentration (respirable). The tests were carried out with three dust preparations and light microscope analysis of the preparations was used to determine the fraction separation characteristics of the separators. The characteristic curves for the fractional separation of the preliminary separators were compared with criteria recommended internationally.
