NavStar - A complete global navigation system
Abstract
The NavStar navigation technique which is based on time ranging and uses a pseudo-random noise signal is discussed with consideration given to some modification procedures that would make civilian applications possible. The origin of NavStar and the objectives of the Timation and NavStar test satellites are reviewed. A brief discussion of NavStar's operational program includes a description of the satellites, launch operations and the deployment of initial and projected constellations.
