Study of analysis methods concerning launch vehicle and spacecraft structural interaction
Abstract
The accuracy of interface variants of the modal synthesis method is assessed. Spacecraft load prediction techniques are summarized. Spacecraft design charts are discussed. Although the loaded interface variant is more accurate, the fixed interface variant is much simpler. Modal synthesis is cruder than the transient finite element method, but it reduces the amount and inhomogeneity of information transmitted between launcher and spacecraft if the truncation level is high.
