Wave forces on cylinders and spheres in the diffraction regime
Abstract
Simple theorems are derived for the wave forces on immersed cylinders and spheres. These forces are shown to be dependent only upon the undisturbed wave particle acceleration at the center of the body and are thus independent of the ratio of diameter to wave length. The cylinder results apply to two dimensional flow.
