Solution of a onedimensional heatconduction problem with a specified coordinateaverage integral temperature
Abstract
An analysis is presented of the timeoptimal heating of a plate with a specified average integral temperature. It is shown that a classical solution exists when the corresponding condition of matching between initial and boundary conditions is superposed, whereas the solution initially has a Diracdeltafunction character when this matching condition is absent.
