Simplified analytical procedure for four-element nonuniformly spaced arrays
Abstract
A four-element nonuniformly spaced linear antenna array is investigated by analytical means. An exact design of the four-element array requires the solution of two transcendental equations, one of which is rather complex. It is found, however, that this complex equation has a simple explicit solution for low values of the sidelobe level. The errors resulting from the simplification are shown to be negligible for sidelobe levels of practical significance.
