Traveling wave maser with constant wave delay in terms of group velocity in the tuning band
Abstract
A method for obtaining constant wave delay in a traveling wave maser in a wide frequency range is proposed. The method is based on the use of a comb-type slow-wave structure; an inhomogeneous dielectric thin plate is employed in which changes of permittivity occur in the Y-direction. A theoretical analysis of this technique is presented, and the dispersion characteristics are examined.
