The possibility of extending the frequency range of a Gunn oscillator by means of biharmonic operation
Abstract
The biharmonic operation of a Gunn oscillator is described. It is shown that second-harmonic power can be extracted at constant efficiency to a frequency of 200 GHz. The stability of biharmonic systems is examined, and the equivalent parameters of the device are investigated. Preliminary experimental results are discussed.
