Some characteristics of fluid flows with velocity-profile distortions
Abstract
The analysis deals with a circular tube (mixer) to which an incompressible fluid is supplied through a number of ducts, whose total cross sectional area is smaller than that of the mixer. It is shown that, even for comparable cross sectional areas, the momentum at the inlet is greater than in the area of fully developed flow within the mixer, regardless of the configuration of the supply ducts.
