Methods for increasing the accuracy of inertial navigation systems
Abstract
Recent work concerning methods for increasing the accuracy of inertial navigation systems is reviewed. Ways to increase the accuracy of functional elements of inertial systems are considered. The importance of autocompensation, correction, and filtering methods is emphasized. It is shown that suboptimal adaptive filtering requires less digital-computer time and can be carried out in the absence of complete a priori information about the error statistics of INS elements.
