Optimum damping of the errors in a pendulum-type two-wheel gyroscopic compass
Abstract
An optimal (with respect to a square-law performance factor) controller has been developed for the error minimization of a two-rotor gyroscope of pendulum type. A numerical example involving the analysis of azimuth error is presented, and the efficiency of the optimal controller is compared to that of a hydraulic damper.
