The speed of light-a demonstration
Abstract
A typical undergraduate laboratory arrangement for measuring the speed of light using Foucault's rotating mirror method is shown. A modification of this method in which the beam splitter and travelling microscope are replaced by a device that greatly magnifies the displacement of the image, and makes the arrangement suitable as a demonstration to a small group of students is described.
