Empirical-statistical investigations of the accuracy structure of photogrammetric aerial photographs
Abstract
Single aerial photographs were empirically-statistically investigated, with emphasis on the stochastic aspects of the picture, for basic research into photogrammetric point determination. By making use of two series of wide angle and superwide angle shots and empirical-statistical analyses, the variance and covariance characteristics of the picture coordinates inside the picture and between different pictures were investigated for a sample of 5000 points. The results lead to answers for existing questions about the functional, and especially the stochastic, photogrammetric point determination model, and also to a better foundation for aerotriangulation.
