On flow through a porous medium
Abstract
A set of equations describing the flow of an incompressible viscous fluid through a rigid porous medium was studied. Existence, uniqueness, and stability results are established for the case of a region impregnated with fluid, and uniqueness for an unsaturated region. A one dimensional model was also examined. It is shown that under certain initial conditions, smooth solutions fail to exist after a certain finite time.
