Bulk Richardsons Number and Flux Profile Relationships in the Atmospheric Surface Layer.
Abstract
A set of stability parameters were defined from the profile equations of heat, momentum and humidity, using the bulk Richardson number, in the manner of the Monin -Obukhov similarity theory. By integrating the Businger -Webb-Dyer-Hicks empirically obtained formulations, it was shown that if wind speeds, temperature and humidity are measured at two levels within the surface boundary layer, we could determine most of the flux parameters, fluxes and transfer coefficients. Estimates of the goodness of fit on the fluxes as obtained by using the Kerang and Kansas data were compared to the values measured. There was good agreement.
